Technical Guide

When using photoshop the main things I did with it was:

  • Change image backgrounds.
  • Cut images out.
  • Smooth Images off.
  • Use shapes off photoshop for text boxes and other uses.
  • I have used different fonts off photoshop for my music magazine.
  • Created a barcode for my music front cover.

When doing this I had to use certain tools from photoshop these were the following tools:

  • The move tool - I used this tool the most as it helped me move my images, shapes and text into place for me to position and structure my music magazine.
  • The eyedropper tool - I used this to create the same colour background so the shading of the colour hadn’t changed.
  • The Magnetic Lasso tool - This tool was very useful as it helped me cut out my images so they stood out on a background that I had chosen.
  • Horizontal type tool - This helped me position and write the text I had chosen and enabled me to chose the size and colour for the font.
  • The Crop tool - This tool helped me crop the pictures to the size I wanted to and without to much background which I didn’t want.
  • The Eraser tool - This allowed me to rub out certain bits of the image that I didn’t require.
  • The Magic Wand tool - This enabled me to easily cut pieces of the image out without needing to use the eraser tool as the magic wand tool was easier to use and saved more time.
  • The Paint Bucket tool - This tool helped me fill my shapes the certain colour I wanted.
  • The Line tool - This help me structure my contents page out with the separation of lines.
  • The Custom Shape tool - This helped me pick out an interesting shape to go on to my front cover.
  • The Rectangle tool – This tool helped me choose rectangles for my contents page so they could be a text box to help the font stand out on the page.

Diary Entry - (Week 7)

This week for my music magazine project I have continued performing improvements to my front cover, contents and double page spread of my music magazine. As the week has progressed I have just about completed my improvements and I am very impressed with what I have created.
The final lesson of the week I will be starting my evaluation and finding out what to write about and how to construct an interesting evaluation.
Overall, this week has been a good week for creating my music magazine as I am just about up to date with all my work.
Next week I will continue doing my evaluation on my music magazine.

Diary Entry - (Week 6)

In week 6 of my music magazine project I spent first two days evaluating and giving feedback to everyone in my class on my views of their music magazines. They also did this for my music magazine and the feedback I got was fairly positive and I only required a few adjustments to make my music magazine look as good as possible.
Once I had my feedback back I started my final music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread. I began by making improvements where my target audience and teachers have told me to make.
This week has been a successful week as my feedback I have received shows positives signs of me completing a good music magazine project.
Next week I will continue and try and complete my music magazine.
